A live performance where African rhythms, electronic music, improvisation and live technology meet.
HK and Loops is the artistic project of musician and composer Hippolyte Koutouan.
Originally from Côte d’Ivoire and based in Québec, Canada, he develops a hybrid musical language where African rhythms, electronic music, improvisation and live music technology meet.
On stage, he does not simply reproduce his compositions. He builds, transforms and reshapes them in real time through sampling, looping, keyboards, electronic percussion, drums and voice.
Following the release of his debut solo EP, Voyage 5.0, supported by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ), he continues this exploration through Hybrid Live 5.0, a live performance that brings the world of the EP to the stage.
